Aiming High’s support of PARC
Many of you may be aware of the name ‘Aiming High’ but are unaware of how they have supported the services that PARC are able to offer to parents.
Aiming High for Disabled Children is the transformation program to help children and young people with disabilities and their families get the support and chances they need to live ordinary lives. One of the key areas that was identified in Essex was the need for Short Breaks or ‘Me Time’. This could be short breaks for a couple of hours to overnight stays. ‘Me Time’ is designed to give children and young people with disabilities enjoyable experiences which contribute to their personal and social development while at the same time enabling parents and families to have a break from their caring responsibilities for either quality rest or to spend time with their other children.
This last Year Aiming High has enabled PARC to increase its services by 67%. This includes After School Clubs , as well as extra places available in all other sessions.
Next Year the future of all these services will be uncertain due to the current climate . We hope that as many parents as possible have been able to benefit from the support of Aiming High and realize the powerful impact that it has made to our families.
